The Jay room (K-1st Grade) and Mallard room (2nd - 5th Grade) programs house the Moss Street Children's Center school age programs. During the school year, both classrooms are open on a schedule designed to accommodate the public school calendar. After school transportation is provided by 4J from Edison school and MSCC from many Eugene area schools as need demands.

Both Jay and Mallard classrooms participate in a very active child-based recreational curriculum. During the summer for example, both programs are run in a summer camp-style and are based on the exploration of nature that Oregon has to offer. Each week includes at least one major field trip. During the regular school year, field trips take place on 4J No School Days.

Regular hours for both classrooms are after school until 3 p.m. or 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, or all day, 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on No School Days. Summer hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexible block scheduling.
