Celia graduated from Lane Community College in 2012 with a degree in early childhood education, and was a toddler teacher for six years after graduation. She took a break from teaching for about four years to be a nanny and spend more time with her daughter, and recently decided to get back into teaching. Celia is very happy to be back!
Working with children gives Celia joy. She believes that they show a perspective on life that is so pure and curious, and is reminded daily to look at the world with the intention to learn and have fun. Kids help her see the bright side of things that adulthood can often shadow.
Celia and her family enjoy spending most of their free time among Oregon's trees. They like to find swimming holes, waterfalls, and visit the beach frequently. If you've never built a fire and roasted marshmallows on a wet December day, you should! They also love taking walks around local neighborhoods to admire gardens. As much as she loves beautiful gardens, Celia says that she has learned she is not a great gardener, but she tries!
