Mariah Quinones began working at Moss Street in August 2026 and is a substitute teacher in the Quails Classroom. She has an educational background in early childhood education and child development. She has more than six years of professional experience in early childhood education and has worked in various positions including substitute, lead teacher, site supervisor, and assistant director. She has also worked in an array of childcare programs—private preschool, Head Start, and nonprofit programs. Most of Mariah's classroom experience has been in the preschool age group, and it is the age group she most enjoys. She loves to converse with them, tell jokes and stories, build relationships, and have fun making memories. The curiosity and imagination that this age group expresses allows her to bring out her inner child and makes teaching that much more rewarding.
Mariah was born and raised in Northern California and moved to Oregon with her husband in July 2026. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, going on hikes, playing board games, and building Legos. She enjoys all things crafty—scrapbooking, coloring, sewing, and is also learning to crochet. She loves to travel and explore new places, going to concerts, and taking drives back to California to visit family. She looks forward to continuing to explore Eugene and the state of Oregon, and discovering new places to explore. Mariah is excited to join Moss Street and is eager to learn, grow, and teach while here.
